I rarely go this religious here; however, I hope it brings hope even for those who are not religious.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Through trials and tribulations<br \/>\nThat come from worldly woes<br \/>\nAnd breaking hearts&#8217; prostration<br \/>\nFor rescue from our foes.<\/p>\n<p>A pleading cry arises<br \/>\nTo heaven&#8217;s all gracious king<br \/>\nAnd begs with tearful praises<br \/>\nFor the future in the wings.<\/p>\n<p>That future now stands shadowed<br \/>\nBereft of hope: forlorn.<br \/>\nAnd we who strive and labor<br \/>\nAre begging for the morn.<\/p>\n<p>Come, O Lord, to save us<br \/>\nWe labor either way<br \/>\nWe do not ask you praise us<br \/>\nWe ask you bring the day.<\/p>\n<p>The stars they call us onward<br \/>\nYour wonders to unfold<br \/>\nYet earthly foes crush downward<br \/>\nAnd chain the brave and bold.<\/p>\n<p>We ask you break the binding<br \/>\nThat shackles us today<br \/>\nAnd that, we, the future minding<br \/>\nCan once more find our way.<\/p>\n<p><em>A Prayer in the Darkness<\/em> copyright \u00a9 Heather Strickler 2024 all rights reserved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dark as the world is, there is hope.
