It decided it needed to be finished so here it is, and I hope you enjoy it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A tiny print upon the sand<br \/>\nSlowly fills with water.<br \/>\nWave wash away the lonely stand<br \/>\nAnd wait for what comes after.<\/p>\n<p>Rings and ripples still they grow<br \/>\nNext the print is greater.<br \/>\nOn and on the waves they flow<br \/>\nTo meet with their creator.<\/p>\n<p>Eyes that only saw the waves<br \/>\nThat washed all things away,<br \/>\nLook for what the heart still craves<br \/>\nAnd see farther every day<\/p>\n<p>Other eyes look beyond<br \/>\nThough they may see no further<br \/>\nThey follow where the waves have gone<br \/>\nAnd stumble in the water.<\/p>\n<p>The longing heart and empty eye<br \/>\nMay find what they desire.<br \/>\nAs horizons open far and nigh<br \/>\nAnd wonders still aspire.<\/p>\n<p><em>Waves Upon the Sand <\/em>copyright \u00a9 Heather Strickler 2024 all rights reserved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I keep a stash of poetry fragments where the poems have escaped me (slippery things.) and stumbled in the beginning of this one.
