Something cheerful for today. I hope your mornings go this well.
The mist of morning shimmers soft
As sleepy owls find their loft,
And little children slumber deep
As the dawning starts to creep.
The sun sneaks up his big bold head
And winks at the moon who turns to bed.
The sleepy mist turns to gold
And clears a way for the early bold.
Coffee steams in kitchen cups
Father and Mother both busy and up.
The morning greets them with light to see
And the sun sneaks in mischievously.
The children race down the silent hall
And voices chatter and carol and call
On the table breakfast is spread
And no one could ever linger abed.
So begins another day
With joy and squabbles along the way
The mist retreats, its work now done
Yielding the watch to the light of the sun.
