Do Not Fear the Darkness

Some hope on what is likely to be a stressful day. I wrote this Sunday but it seemed appropriate for today.

The light is ever burning
It cannot be laid low.
It shines through every darkness
Bringing hope with its glow.

Do not fear the darkness
It cannot stand the light
Even as the dawning
Drives away the night.

Even in the deepest nighttime
The defiant stars still burn
No storm can e’re extinguish
Just hide them for a turn.

The storm is cut by lightning
That drives the dark away
The storming battle rages
But the darkness cannot stay.

So do not fear the darkness
Strive ever to the light.
The morning yet is coming
It always ends the night.
