Hints of Spring

Some warmth creeping in to the cold days.

Chilly air gives way to warmth
And soft the breeze may blow.
The bitter wind yields to sun
As longer days now show.

Winter does not lightly yield
And summer has not formed,
But slow the days are shifting
And cold gives way to warm.

Heat is not yet threatening
But nights have grown less cold.
The leaves are not yet spreading
But winter releases its hold.

Though birds are not returning
Soon they’ll be on the wing
And crocus blossoms bursting
Are hinting at the Spring!
