Hunter’s Defiance

Not sure why he’s riding a dragon (ask Midjourney) I may have to write that story, but I hope you enjoy the poem and the picture.

Bound in steel and hunted foes
Turn the future as on it goes
Raise your sword against the night.
Turn once more to bring the light

When angry worlds are crashing down
And danger takes forever’s crown,
Turn once more to the dawn
Raise your sword and battle on.

Though shadows come in tormented sleep
Defiant hope our souls shall keep.
No terror can that center mar
Though it strike near or from afar.

Lift your head, raise your sword
Though we may not find reward.
The night will come at end of day
But dawn will follow come what may.

So bind yourselves in strong forged steel
Gird your souls and come to kneel
The oaths we swear will carry on,
And all our voices will raise in song.
