Another piece from my Memories of Ash/Sebastian Blackwood world. I hope you enjoy it.
Stand at the edge where names dissolve.
Stand and watch what riddles solve.
Stand by the gates but don’t go in.
Stand at the door to welcome kin.
Be cautious e’re you cross that line
Though it be infernal or divine.
Not all crossings run both ways
And other powers have their say.
Guard you well your heart and soul
Take no crossing where those are toll.
Though should one come and cross with you
That one may win your heart anew.
When at the edge, stand strong and bold
Grab your name, take firm your hold.
What ever bound’ry comes to you
Who you are will see you through.
Stand at the edge where names dissolve
And watch the threshold now revolve
Do not cross where you cannot be
Gird your soul and humanity.
Raise up your head, you’re not alone
The well bound heart will bring you home
So careful now which bounds you cross
Some thresholds bring both joy and loss.
