Song Against the Darkness

A bit of hope to hold you through the rest of the day.

Lift up your head, drive out fear.
Lift up your voice for all to hear.
Let no terror in the night
Hold your soul chained up tight.

Hold to joy, make hope a shield
Laughter is our sword to wield.
Let the hearth burn in your hearts
Home and kin and simple arts.

Love and memory weave and bind
All that’s good within our minds.
Though pain must come to every soul
Memory keeps the bedrock whole.

So wrap yourself in all that’s good
In the place you are understood.
Kith and kin gather round
Though they be born or they be found.

Lift up your head and drive out fear
Sing now and always all that’s dear.
No terror holds in any night
Where singing souls bear the light.
