I hope you enjoy this piece of quiet welcome.
In the sorrow of the evening
When all the day’s weighed down.
Pause by the work you’re leaving
And softly lay it down.
Take no burden with you
To the stillness of the night
Make the dark a refuge
From the labors of the light.
Though the day be full of singing
Or lost in grief and pain
The rest that now is winging
Lights in our hearts again.
When sorrows find their echo
in the setting of the sun
Sit quiet in the fire glow
And drink the rest begun.
