For those who must go out into dangers and those who keep the hearth fire burning.

From hearth to edge and then beyond
Carry from the Warden’s song.
From dawn to dusk and then to day
Though hearth and home ne’er fade away.

Though long the night that bitter ends
From day to day the hearth fire stands.
At the edge the watch is kept
So at the heart the family slept.

So wandering feet come ever home
Through danger wild and cease to roam.
From beyond the night to edge of day
The cut of dawn now fades away.

And in the light of rising sun
From edge to hearth now he comes.
Weary tread grows stronger still
As heart finds rest with eager will.
