A little hope for those who need it.
When shadows all have fallen
And hope seems far away
Do not heed despair now calling
There will yet come the day.
Though the night be far from over
And the vigil falls to foes
Still hope may be recovered
And the truth will only grow.
Though there is no end to labor
And the battle’s not yet done.
The war is not forever
Do not fear what has begun.
The foes sing in their darkness
Of the glory of their feast
Yet if you pass and harken
You find they fear the least.
Though bold yet still their boasting
And their raucous vict’ry cries,
Yet even among their toasting
A hand lists all the lies.
So do not fear the shadows
Nor the trials that will come
We do not know what follows
Only that the day will come.
